Thrombolysis

PREOP

  • Since these are emergency urgency procedures, the patients are usually admitted to the hospital. If possible, they should be seen in clinic.
  • Require overnight hospital stay in ICU (reservations should be made with hospital supervisor)
  • Preop labs: CBC, Chem basic, INR, fibrinogen
  • Aspirin or Plavix – All patients should be on these medications, unless contraindicated.
  • Continue anticoagulation unless contraindicated by MD.

FOLLOW UP

  • Phone call 1-2 days after discharge, then CLINIC VISIT 1-2 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year (unless otherwise directed)
