Sacroplasty

PREOP EVALUATION

• Clinic visit for all patients before scheduling procedure, unless already admitted to hospital
• All patients need MRI of spine with “STIR” sequence within 1 week of procedure
• Preop labs: CBC, PT/INR, PTT

ANTICOAGULATION/ANTIPLATELETS

• Anti-platelet medications:  Do not stop
• Anti-coagulant medications:  Stop 5 days before procedure

LOCATION OF THE PROCEDURE

• CT

TIMING / BED REST AFTER PROCEDURE

• 1 hours

PREOPERATIVE ORDERS

• IV with NS (Normal Saline) 75ml/hr
• CBC, PT/INR, PTT

FOLLOW UP

• After procedure will need:
• Physical Therapy referral
• Imaging:  None unless patient has persistent pain.
• Call 1-2 days after procedure.
• Clinic visit 1-2 weeks
